Bert was raised in Franklin, Tennessee, and graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville. He then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in General Business Administration from Belmont University. After completing his college degree, Bert worked in a family-owned limestone mining and road construction business until the sale of the company in 2018. Post-sale, he became a private investor, focused on real estate investments and financing early-stage companies. Bert became familiar with High Hopes through his parents, long-time supporters and former board members. He has served both on the advisory and main board of High Hopes, and currently serves on several board committees. Bert and his wife Kelly have two children, Eph and Eleanor, and live in Brentwood.
